ARCHAEOCOMP ARCHAEOLOGICAL MULTIDISCIPLINARY ASSOCIATION

The Archaeocomp Archaeological Multidisciplinary Association was founded 31st of October 1991. Originally the Association aimed at performing and promoting the following tasks:

The activity of the Association has considerably grown by the extension of the original profiles. Our main purpose is still the introduction of methods and practices of science into archaeological research, but the main emphasis shifted towards the application of informatical means and tools and the backgound of social sciences grew much wider by the integration of general fields of museum studies.

Since 1992, the Archaeocomp Association has been trusted with the role of a disciplinary centre in the field of public collections, especially museums, by NIIF (National Information Infrastructure Project).

The Archaeocomp Association took place in the organisation of several national and international meetings and could support several publications, both printed and electronical, related to our field of interest.
