In connection with latest investigations at the Middle Palaeolithic site Tata-Porhanyóbánya (excavations by Julianna Kisné Cseh and Viola T. Dobosi between1995-2001), an exhibition and a related international conference is being organised in the Tata Castle by the Kuny Domokos Museum (Tata, Komárom-Esztergom county) and the Hungarian National Museum
.The title and focus of the conference is:
“Topical issues of the research of Middle Palaeolithic period in Central Europe”
You are kindly invited to participate the meeting. We are looking forward your answer. If you are interested, please send back the enclosed Registration Form to the organisers. The second circular with the Program will be sent to you after compiling the conference program.
The venue of the Conference will be:
Tata-castle(Tata in located along the motorway M1, some 70 km from Budapest. This is a small town rich in Mediaeval and Baroque monuments. The Castle, lying on the beach of the Öreg-tó (Old Lake) was built in the second half of the 14th century, for a royal and aristocratic resort place. Currently the Castle houses the central exhibitions of the Kuny Domokos Museum)
